Through the years after finishing my graduate studies in counseling, I became something of an online junkie for knowledge—trying to understand what it means to be human, and how humans can help other humans live more just and accepting lives.
My continuing education gradually took on a life of its own online, through workshops and training programs from the United States and Australia. Amazon also became part of that journey. Over time, I built a self-funded private library in my search for purpose and meaning as I entered the second half of my life.
Thanks to technology, I was able to access knowledge from around the world without spending an inordinate amount of time and resources pursuing a costly, multi-year, one-size-fits-all program. The books I found along the way became invaluable companions in my learning and growth.
I never imagined that one day I would belong in that same online marketplace—not only as a reader, but as an author.
Today, I’m sharing
“Better People, Better Country: A Psychological Blueprint for a New Philippines,” written under the pen name Starfly Chua.

I post this with mixed emotions. The journey behind this book was not easy. It included my share of pain, sorrow, doubts, and regrets in the search for something simple but difficult: truth that works.
This book is the culmination of that journey—a journey that took more than fifteen years.

Thank you to a graduate student of UP Diliman for the gift! Nathan Chua recently signed, with two other validators, a graduate thesis about an ACT instrument and its suitability for measuring psychological flexibility among Filipino students in a local high school.

My heartfelt thank you to the third year psychology students of UST for inviting me to this opportunity to talk about a functional contextual perspective on eating disorders specifically bulimia and anorexia.

Continuing education about the theory of everything with Dr. Matthieu Villatte. In this online workshop, we learn the philosophy of science behind contextual behavioral science.
They are a-ontology, monism, and pragmatism.
These allow contextual behaviorists to address any problem clients may bring with an open mind and a helping hand.
It is universal and true to our goal of alleviating human suffering and promoting prosperity of one kind, and that is humankind. It also allows us to deal with issues with precision, depth, and scope.

Here’s Nathan Chua’s first talk in front of an international group of therapists from Low or Middle Income Countries or LMIC!
Nathan is the first counselor from the Philippines to do this!
